Don’t settle with okay - become more beautiful!

So, you want to try your hand at beauty, eh? Do you know anything about this? Do you know about all the different kinds of products that you can use? Do you know what is required to pull off a successful look? If these questions raise more questions than you can answer, try looking at the tips below.

HAIR
Brush your hair at the right time. If you have straight hair, comb and brush when your hair is dry. If your hair is curly, brush and comb when your hair is wet. This allows you to work with the texture of your hair while avoiding frizz and fly away hair in the process.  Hair extensions can add volume and length to give you a celebrity look.  Keep in mind though that prolonged use of hair extensions can weaken your own hair and cause damage that can take years to repair!  If you have thinning areas on your scalp (parting or at the front) you can have scalp micropigmentation to give the appearance of thicker, more dense hair.

TEETH
Take care of your teeth. You don’t need to go as far as TOWIE dazzling whites…. However, a beautiful smile can brighten your appearance just as much as a terrible smile can dull your appearance. Make sure to have dental check-ups as well as to fix any cosmetic dental problems that make you feel uncomfortable. Being happy with your smile will show on your face; it will make you look that much better.

SKIN
To keep your skin smooth, fresh and flawless, make sure you cleanse regularly. If you wear cosmetics of any kind, you should cleanse your skin nightly. Deep cleaning regularly can draw makeup out of your pores and help you keep your complexion fresh. Also be certain to give your skin a break from foundation occasionally.
Moisturize your skin. Moisturizing your skin with lotion, moisturizer and oils keeps it supple and young-looking. The environment can wreak havoc on skin, especially in the colder climates and seasons. Skin can be dry and dull, but moisturizing nourishes and brightens skin as well as protects it from the elements.
Using a facial moisturizer is one of the best things you can do to enhance your beauty. Even if you have oily skin, it is still a good idea. Apply it every single night before going to sleep. If you have extra dry skin, it is a good idea to also use moisturizer in the morning as well.

MAKEUP
Pick a foundation that is dermatologist approved and matches your natural skin tone well. Some foundations can clog your pores quite easily if you have sensitive skin, so find one that is oil-free as well. This will help keep your pores clear and help make your face look great and oil-free all day.  Finish with a hydrating fixing spray so it stays on longer.  There is a fairly new treatment available called BB Glow.  This uses microneedling to insert BB foundation deep into the skin, to even skin tone and give you a glow that can last up to 7 days.  Who ever thought you could have semi-permanent foundation?!

NAILS
If you can afford to have your nails done and have acrylics, gels etc, then great.  Otherwise, use hydrogen peroxide to cure yellowed nails. Nothing is beautiful about yellowing nails. To fix this problem, soak cotton in peroxide and then wipe each nail for several strokes. Let it sit on your nails for a few minutes. Rinse your nails and admire.  Keep them clean and filed.  You’ll be surprised how many people notice your hands!

EYES
Try to use an eye pencil instead of liquid eyeliner if you can. Eye pencils give a less dramatic look, while liquid eyeliner may be too much.  Unless you want a dramatic look, then go for it!   If you have to use liquid eyeliner, make sure to pull your lid downward with one hand while applying it with your other hand.  If you are no good at applying eyeliner, you can opt for permanent eyeliner.  This won’t run or smudge and it will always be in straight and perfect every day.

A way to keep your eye shadow from creasing, remove as much oil as possible from your eyelids before applying eye shadow. It is easy to do by using a pressed powder or and eye shadow base before applying the colour. These help absorb any oils on the eyelids and keep the eye shadow from creasing.

EYEBROWS
Eyebrow trends are always changing – are you keeping up??  If you over plucked your brows when that was the thing to do, you’ll be regretting it now.  The correct shaped brows and sufficient “bushiness” for your face will literally transform your face.  If you are stuck on what shapre suits you, maybe consult a professional.  You can start with basic treading / waxing.  If you suffer from limited hair, then why not try microblading?  This technique etches the illusion of hair strokes to look completely natural.  You can also have tattooing and also go for an “ombre brow” if you are feeling this look.  You can choose a combination of techniques for semi-permanent eyebrows to get the look you want.

LIPS
Probably best to avoid the duck pout, so finding someone who knows what they are doing with filler is key.  More Kyle Jenner than Lesley Ash. A little lip filler for those of us who weren’t blessed in the lip department will help, just don’t overdo it.  There are some lip plumping products but I find these just irritate your lips and as a result they are red and swollen.  Another great way to make the most of your natural lip shape and make them appear fuller, is by permanent lipliner and blush fill.  No need to worry any more about having a solid, obvious line around your mouth – techniques have moved on since then and now the line is not obvious and colour can be blended right down into the lips for a completely natural look.  Literally just gloss and go!

FACE AND BODY
When you are trying to improve the quality of your skin, one point that you can never overlook in your routine is a good exfoliation. You should do this at least twice a week and you should have a separate product for your face and your body. These will help to make your skin look younger.  Dry scrubbing your thighs and bum will help improve the appearance of cellulite.  There are other various treatments for the body which can lift and tone and help shift stubborn cellulite.  The non-surgical Brazilian butt lift is one example.

Dermarolling can help improve the appearance of cellulite, as well as treat scars and stretch marks.
Microneedling is a great way to bring your skin on your face back to life – it creates channels deeper in toe dermis where active, concentrated ingredients can be inserted.  This leads to improved skin tone, reduced wrinkles, reduced pigmentation, reduced red spider veins (normally around the nose area), acne scarring improvement and collagen production.
